This was my Christmas card image in 2003. Every year for about the past decade I keep thinking to myself that I would make a card image, but never did until this one. So hopefully it's the end of that lazy streak.
My absolute favorite work. Personal reasons, and weird synchronicity. After highschool, I sketched myself with that hair. (If you go to my page, you will see some of the sketches.) It was just too significant when I found a litho' of this work in 2005 at the magic shop 'Lady of the Lake'. It also introduced me to your art, which is such a contrast to the maleness -stark, sharp lines- of Michael Parkes art. (I have 'Savitri' from his collection.) Wonderful that a more female presence has emerged on the magic surrealism stage!
Thank you! Yes, I love Michael Parkes' work as well, thought that is interesting that you point out how it is masculine. I had never thought of it that way before you mentioned it!
The last of my comment flood for now. Again, sucker for glowing pale tones and expressive wings. She was another favorite who was tucked neatly in a sidebar in Dreamscapes. She makes a wonderful incarnation for December with the lily accoutrement. Did you ever make cards of this one?
Aww I was hoping she might be available as a card to the public. She's quite lovely! I am something of a 4x6 collector and would love to have a mini print of her if you ever made one.
If you do not wish to be featured, just drop me a note and I will remove your work from the feature.
