Card text by Satyros Phil Brucato:
Humor relieves the pain of living. Stuck in our ridiculous bags of skin and subject to absurd strokes of fortune, we have to laugh or else go crazy. On many levels, creation is a big joke on every living thing. We burp, fart, stammer and stumble our way through life, and the more regal we try to appear, the more absurd we eventually become. A wise Dancer, therefore, knows how to laugh at himself. By embracing Humor, we take charge of our imperfections.
That said, the edge between humor and tragedy is thin indeed. Laughter isn’t always a “proper” reaction… and, in fact, the more “improper” it is, the harder we wind up laughing. Humor inverts the expected order, throwing in an ironic kick in the balls for good measure. If and when you choose this Dance, recall that Humor is Tragedy sped up and exaggerated to the point of farce. Each jester is a killer in disguise, and though her weapons might wound only your dignity, they can cut you pretty damn deep.
