I look up at the moon on a still night, and feel that spiderweb trailing of silver light across my face. No heat like the caress of the sun. No sign of that ghostly trailing of light except what my imagination fills. A peace steals across the room, the stillness of meditation, of delving down within. I am glad to read that I am not the only one who "works on the fly". I find it challenging and enjoyable(sometimes) to make a mistake, and have to figure out how to incorporate it into the piece. Some of my best stuff has resulted from a combination of intuition and accidents!
