I realized I had forgotten to release this piece last year! Often artwork that is done for publication cannot be released right away, until the product itself is released by the publisher. And then as the months pass, I forget I have the artwork. This particular one was done as the cover for a children/young adult publisher. It is a collection of myths and folktales from around the world of heroes such as Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Beowulf, Finn MacCool, and Ramayana.

I fell in love with this painting since I`ve laid my eyes on it! Composition and details are so well done! I would like to see some your Silmarillion illustrations cause this one reminds me of Gondolin! I love it! :)

Your watercolour skills are amazing, and I love all of the different textures you are able to achieve with the medium. The details are gorgeous, and all the characters are very well done. The setting is magical and beautiful. Wonderful job! :)

I'm a sucker for tales of Knights and Dragons. Saving fair damsels and acts of chivalry. This picture is a perfect description of that.

That was my favorite concept too! Although, now I like more challenging women in tales. I`ve overgrown the tale concept of sitting fair lady who is doing nothing but waiting a knight, so now I`m glad to see that movie Tangled is importing concept of adventuress. :)

Wonderful, as the rest of your work! Which tales in particular inspired you to the depicted scene?
