Made as per the wonderful tutorial and pattern supplied by ~Katy-A [link]

Claire loves Toothless. I browsed around to see if I could find her a stuffed toy for her birthday and was aghast at how ugly the official stuffed toys are. How can they take such a CUTE dragon and make something so horribly scary/ugly?

Anyway, after I set to work on this, Claire saw me working on the shapeless inside-out form, and her eyes widened. She had seen me browsing over the past few days the other photos people had of their versions of Toothless made with this same pattern. I had hoped it would be a surprise for her, so I quickly answered her inquiring look with, "Oh this is nothing, don't mind me. This is just a lump. Nothing of interest."

Of course, she promptly pulled out the How To Train Your Dragon cd sleeve with a big picture of toothless on the front and said happily, "LUMP!" So now I think my plushie has been named Lump.

Teaches me not to underestimate a 2-year-old's comprehension. :P

Such an adorable Lump! :D

(Heh, and in Czech, "lump" means something like a mischievous person, which would be quite fitting, too.)

I adore that movie. One of the best children's movies ever, actually teaching children something nice without being all in the face about it, and amazing even without the lessons learned.

Now I'd like to get my hands on the book on which the movie was based.
