So, a bunch of appearances in February (after being a hermit for the last six months)!
PANTHEACON pantheacon.com/wordpress/ - The 19th Annual PantheaCon will be held Feb. 15 – 18, 2013 (President's Day Weekend) at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, CA. I will have a booth in the main mezzanine exhibitor area.
FAERIECON WEST faeriecon.com/west/ - FEBRUARY 22ND-24TH, 2013 at the RENAISSANCE SEATTLE HOTEL - 515 Madison Street, Seattle, WA 98104. I will have a booth in the main exhibitor area.
If you will be attending either event, and would like to make any special requests for books, prints, or originals that you would like me to bring, please do not feel shy about emailing or leaving me a note, to request the pieces beforehand, as I don't bring my entire stock to shows!
Also in Seattle, at Krab Jab Studio faeriecon.com/west/ .
Sadly, I won't be able to attend the opening reception for this, but if you do live in the area (or are in the vicinity during Faeriecon), there is a very nice lineup of artists for this show!
February 9th – February 28th, 2013
Opening Reception Saturday, February 9th, 6 – 9 pm
Seattle, USA: Ushering in a month of beauty and magic, Krab Jab Studio is hosting FAERIE, a group show filled with some of the worlds brightest and legendary fairy artists.
Curated by local artist Julie Baroh (with the assistance of Tara Larsen Chang), this show is a dream come true. Raised on books illustrated by Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and Brian Froud, Julie has been an admirer of fairy art nearly all her life and continues this tradition in her own work. As facilitator for Krab Jab Studio, Julie sought to include an art show that allows the public to see for themselves the wonder of the fae world, through the eyes of contemporary artists.
Featuring the fairy art of: Amy Brown, Allen Williams, Brian Froud, David Thiérrée, Echo Chernik, Emily Fiegenschuh, Eric Orchard, Fred Fields, Gary Lippincott, Gregory Manchess, Heather Hudson, JB Monge, Julia Jeffrey, Julie Baroh, Justin Gerard, Myrea Pettit, Norman Taber, Olivier Villoingt, Omar Rayyan, Poul Dohle, Sheila Rayyan, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Tara Larsen Chang, Terese Nielsen, Toby Froud, Todd Lockwood, Tom Kidd, Tory Taber, Wendy Froud, and Yoann Lossel.

Sipping tea with your Muse
Only by fostering a facility with the vocabulary of your artistic medium of choice, can you begin to really free yourself to be open to being creative with it.
The size of that vocabulary is another matter, and that’s about growth, improvement and development. These are important as well, and intricately linked to creativity, in parallel (more on that in a future article). But first let’s talk simply about the genesis aspect of art.
Remember when you were in high school, doodling in the margins of your notebooks? Ballpoint pen and edges of blue-lined notebooks, with half an ear listening to the lesson of the day? The

2014 February and March shows
Oh my. I really need to update this journal more often.
For now though, here's my schedule for some 2014 for appearances and shows.
As always, if you plan to be attending any event, and would like to make any special requests for books, prints, or originals that you would like me to bring, please do not feel shy about emailing or leaving me a note. Request the pieces beforehand, as I don't bring my entire stock to shows!

Dreamdance Oracle Unveiled!
So here it is at last. http://www.shadowscapes.com/Dreamdance/
I've shown some previews of this project, but I wanted to wait until it was a little bit further along before revealing it. The Dreamdance Oracle is a work-in-progress oracle deck collaboration between me and writer Satyros Phil Brucato. Our intention at this time, is that it will eventually be made into a Kickstarter project to fund a limited run, high quality, special edition deck; and then at a later date released in a more standardized mass-market form via a card publisher. Since the project is still in its early stages, this is not set in stone yet. We're still di
